Bend, Oregon is known as one of the best gravel cycling destinations in the country, and this event shows you why. The CCG runs over three days, but you can opt in for however many days you want (omnium format). Friday starts with a five-mile time trial, then Saturday and Sunday offer a shorter and longer distance option. The terrain is nothing short of epic: Central Oregon high desert meets the Cascade Mountain Range. Each day of riding offers something a little different (alpine lakes and creeks, buttes, old logging roads), and the organization is top-notch (speaking from experience!). The spirit of adventure is high, the weather is mild, and each day ends with a festive finish line, complete with hearty food and a beer garden.
